Liverpool’s manic 4-3 win over Fulham on Sunday was entirely in keeping with a little-known statistic that they happen to lead the Premier League in.
The bonkers encounter saw the Reds take the lead twice, before going behind to the west London outfit, who were rank outsiders heading into the game, late on.
Two sensational strikes in the space of a minute secured a memorable victory for Jurgen Klopp’s side, who have repeatedly pulled it out of the fire during his tenure even when they have conceded multiple goals.
Liverpool do have serious form in this area, of course. Back in the German’s first season in charge they came out on the right side of an insane 5-4 thriller against Norwich City when Adam Lallana scored the decisive goal in injury time.
It should come as no surprise then that the Merseyside club have won more points that any other team in Premier League history when conceding three goals, and by a distance, too.

This stat was revealed this week by FBref, who showed that Liverpool have picked up 58 points in such a scenario. They have let in three goals in 107 matches, winning 14, drawing 16 and losing the other 77.
Tottenham are in second on 45 points, with Manchester United following closely behind on 43. Southampton and Arsenal share fourth spot with 40 points apiece.
But no team has conceded three goals in one Premier League match more often than West Ham United, who have done so a whopping 198 times, picking up 31 points in the process.
At the other end of the spectrum, Huddersfield and Luton Town are the only clubs to not pick up a point when conceding three times. The Hatters are enjoying their first ever Premier League campaign, but have already let in a hat-trick of goals in five different matches so far – including Tuesday’s enthralling 4-3 defeat to Arsenal at Kenilworth Road.
Cardiff City, Birmingham, Ipswich Town and Sunderland round out the bottom of the table with just one point, although the Black Cats record is particularly poor having allowed three goals in a single game 112 times.
