Liverpool are among the clubs tracking Hoffenheim forward Maximilian Beier, who is expected to leave the Bundesliga side next summer.
The Germany u-21 international has impressed since returning to Hoffenheim from a two-season loan spell at Hannover 96, with the 21-year-old having scored six goals in 11 league starts this season.
Beier is currently focused on a successful season at Hoffenheim as he looks to break into the German national side ahead of next summer’s European Championship on home soil, with only Stuttgart’s Deniz Undav having scored more Bundesliga goals among German players.
Sky Germany are reporting that a number of English clubs have made enquiries ahead of the January transfer window, with several sides informed on Beier’s contract situation.
The 6ft 1in centre-forward, who can also play on the wing, is understood to have a release clause of €30m (£25.7m) in his contract at Hoffenheim, though this will only become active in the summer.
Liverpool are among those keeping a keen eye on his progress this season, with Darwin Nunez yet to replicate the form he showed at former club Benfica. The 24-year-old has scored 22 goals in 64 appearance since joining Liverpool from the Portuguese side for an initial fee of £64m.
