‘This is the season where Cristiano Ronaldo is crowned the greatest player ever’: Robbie Savage
“I think this is the pivotal season where Ronaldo, for me, will be crowned the best player ever,” former Man United youth academy star Robbie Savage told William Hill.
“Messi stared PSG, you know, he’s had a couple of injuries and is not got off to the best starts. I would say, because Ronaldo has done it in Spain, he started off in Portugal, come to the Premier League, Italy, and now doing it again at 36 in the Premier League.
“I would say the two greatest players ever if this season dictates, Ronaldo in the Premier League getting 20 goals, and Messi struggling in Ligue 1, I would say Ronaldo is the greatest ever.”
Leo has only scored 1 goal in 5 appearances for PSG as he struggles to adapt to his new surroundings after spending so many years at Barcelona.
Ronaldo has definitely had a better start to his season than Messi, scoring 5 goals in 6 appearances for United so far.

Bryan Robson tips Ronaldo to be the ‘next Ryan Giggs’ and play until he’s 40
Speaking to the BBC about how long Cristiano Ronaldo can still play at the top, former Man United captain Bryan Robson said: “For his obvious ability and what he has achieved, it’s indisputable that Cristiano is the best.
“People have talked about his age since he came back to United, but fitness levels are still fantastic- and he is still producing great football because of that.
“I am sure he is going to be another Ryan Giggs – and play on until he is 40 simply because his fitness levels are so high.”
The Portuguese forward is showing no signs of slowing down and has already scored 9 goals for club and country this season, as he seems well capable of playing at the top even when he enters his 40s.
Ronaldo is currently on a two-year contract with United – with the option to extend it to three years. If able to play through his entire contract, Cristiano will be 39 towards the end of his current deal with the Red Devil.
