Timo Werner looks set to return to the Premier League in the January transfer window.
The RB Leipzig forward is ‘close’ to joining Tottenham Hotspur on loan, with both clubs ‘finalising the details’ of the deal, according to The Athletic.
The former Chelsea attacker was among a number of Bundesliga players reportedly on Manchester United’s list of potential recruits this month.
The German scored just ten goals in 56 Premier League appearances while at Stamford Bridge after the club spent £47.5million to sign him from RB Leipzig in 2020.
After failing to impress in England, Werner returned to Leipzig in the summer of 2022. This season he has registered two goals and one assist in 14 appearances.
Spurs have also been linked with a move for Genoa defender Radu Dragusin, although Napoli are attempting to hijack their move for the Romania international.
The north London outfit are also said to be interested in Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, while Eric Dier has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich.
