West Ham United have been dealt a major blow after both Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta suffered injuries.
The pair, who have arguably been the club’s most important players this season, are expected to be out for an extended period.
Bowen has sustained an injury to his ankle that could keep him out for up to a month. The English attacker is the Hammer’s top goalscorer this term and fifth in the Premier League scoring chart on 11 goals.
Paqueta, meanwhile, is sidelined by a calf injury he picked up in the 2-0 win over Arsenal in late December.
The Brazilian missed West Ham‘s goalless draw with Brighton before returning for the FA Cup third round tie with Bristol City, but was forced off in the 14th minute of the 1-1 stalemate.
Both players are ruled out for the replay against the Robins next week, while they are also likely to miss Premier League games against Sheffield United, Bournemouth, Arsenal and Manchester United.
West Ham are already sweating on the fitness of Michail Antonio, Vladimir Coufal and Konstantinos Mavropanos ahead of the next round of games, while Nayif Aguerd and Mohamed Kudus are away on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations.
