London quartet chase Feyenoord forward Gimenez

Arsenal, Tottenham and Fulham will rival West Ham in the race to sign Feyenoord forward Santiago Gimenez.

A host of Premier League clubs are chasing a deal to sign the Mexican this month, following his prolific form in the Eredivisie. The 22-year-old has scored 44 goals in all competitions for the Dutch side since the start of last season, performances which have alerted England’s top clubs.

West Ham are understood to be eyeing a deal to sign Gimenez in the January transfer window, though Football Insider claim the Hammers could face competition from across the capital.

The Irons have used Jarrod Bowen as a makeshift striker for much of the campaign, with Michail Antonio and Danny Ings having struggled for fitness and form.

David Moyes’ side need to sell before pursuing a deal, however, with Nayef Aguerd, Ings and Said Benrahma among the names who could depart the London Stadium to raise funds.

Arsenal and Tottenham are also each considering centre-forwards this month and Gimenez’s availability for a modest fee of around £30m-£40m is tempting for both clubs. The former are keen to strengthen their title challenge with a reliable source of goals, with Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus having failed to score consistently this season.

Feyenoord would prefer to retain Gimenez until the end of the current campaign, though the Dutch champions could be tempted into a sale should a large offer arrive this month.
