Bayern Munich have entered the race to sign Premier League-linked Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo.
The German champions are assessing defensive options despite the arrival of Eric Dier from Tottenham this month, with Kim Min-jae competing at the Asian Cup with South Korea and Matthijs de Ligt sidelined with a knee problem.
Football Transfers are reporting that Todibo is on Bayern’s centre-back shortlist, alongside Kevin Danso of Lens.
Todibo has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Nice across the past 12 months and has been scouted extensively by English clubs, with Manchester United and Liverpool understood to be admirers of the 24-year-old.
Spurs also made an approach to sign the defender, who made his senior debut for France in September, last month before turning their attention to Radu Dragusin.
Todibo has impressed as part of a Nice defence that boasts the best defensive record in Ligue 1 this season, with the second-placed side having conceded only 11 goals in 18 games.
Nice are keen to retain the services of the centre-back until the end of the campaign at least and value Todibo in excess of £40m.
