West Ham have made an approach to sign Emile Smith Rowe on loan from Arsenal for the remainder of the campaign.
Smith Rowe has struggled for favour under Mikel Arteta across the last 18 months and has started just one game in the Premier League so far this season.
The 23-year-old has featured for just 118 minutes in total for the Gunners in the league this season and West Ham are hopeful of reaching an agreement to sign the London-born midfielder on loan.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that negotiations are underway between the capital clubs, to determine whether an agreement on the structure of a deal can be found.
Smith Rowe came through the academy system at Arsenal and has made 107 appearances in all competitions for the North Londoners. He was nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award after scoring 10 league goals in a breakout 2021/22 season but has since struggled with form and favour issues.
The midfielder will hope regular football can boost his chances of breaking back into the England set-up, after winning three caps for the Three Lions to date.
West Ham are desperately chasing attacking additions following a number of injuries at the London Stadium.
Lucas Paquetá is out with a calf problem, while Michail Antonio is expected to miss up to another five weeks of action. The Irons also have Mohammed Kudus unavailable as the Ghana international competes at the Africa Cup of Nations.
