Everton are open to the sale of Amadou Onana this month, provided the club’s £60m asking price is met.
Everton are considering the sale of a leading asset in a bid to ease the club’s financial concerns, after the Toffees were charged with a second breach of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules.
Onana has attracted interest from a number of Premier League rivals and could be allowed to leave, should any suitor meet his £60m valuation at Goodison Park.
Football Transfers are reporting that Newcastle are informed on his situation as the club consider midfield additions, amid Sandro Tonali’s suspension and uncertainty surrounding the futures of Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes.
Eddie Howe’s side had been linked with a loan move for Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips but look set to miss out to West Ham in the race to sign the England international.
Due to Newcastle’s own financial restraints, the Magpies would need to agree a loan deal with an obligation to buy, a proposal ‘unlikely’ to be accepted at Everton.
Onana has also had previous interest from Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea, though each appear unable to meet Everton’s asking price in the current window.
