Victor Osimhen will leave Napoli this summer, club president Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed this week.
The Italian film producer says the Nigerian striker will join either Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain or a “top” Premier League club when he departs at the end of the season.
The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with Arsenal and Chelsea in recent months, while Manchester United have also shown interest in the player in the recent past.
Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino has made Osimhen his number one transfer target, according to Teamtalk.
“This was already known since this summer, our negotiations [over the new contract] were friendly, otherwise it would not have been so long. We knew he would go to Real Madrid, PSG or a top English club,” De Laurentiis is quoted as saying by the Evening Standard.
Osimhen recently revealed that he already knows the next step of his career. “At the end of the season, I already made up my mind. I already know what I want to do with my career. I already know the next decision I want to take,” he told CBS Sports.
In December, Osimhen signed a new deal with Napoli to extend his contract through to the summer of 2026. The player joined the Italian outfit from Lille for just over £62m in 2020, making him the most expensive signing in the club’s history.
