Todibo discusses future amid Chelsea and Man United links

Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo has opened up on his future amid transfer speculation surrounding Premier League clubs.

Todibo is a reported transfer target for several Premier League clubs, with both Manchester United and Chelsea heavily linked with signing the centre-back in the summer.

Spurs made an approach to sign the France international last month before turning their attention to Genoa’s Radu Dragusin.

Todibo has impressed during Nice’s push for Champions League qualification this season, with the French side having conceded just 11 goals in 20 Ligue 1 games.

The 24-year-old made his senior debut for France in September and is pushing for a place in Les Bleus squad for this summer’s European Championship.

Todibo said this week that his focus was on a successful season in Nice, but refused to rule out a move away from the club at the end of the season.

“I am at Nice and we’re having a great season. I don’t have my head elsewhere. If I did it would be difficult for me personally and for the group too,” Todibo said in quotes published by the Mirror.

“I feel really good at Nice. We’ll see what happens in the summer but we’re not there yet. I don’t want to get ahead of myself. I don’t want to give false hope. For now, I’m here at Nice.

“Football moves quickly, you never know what’s going to happen. I’ll wait until the summer to make my decision. If my decision is to stay, I’ll announce it, if it is to leave, I’ll announce it too and I’ll thank everyone, but we’re not there yet.”
