Bayern ‘considered’ January loan move for Mykhailo Mudryk

Bayern Munich considered a late loan approach to sign Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk in January.

Mudryk has failed to make an impact at Chelsea since signing from Shakhtar Donetsk in a deal which could reach £88.5m including add-ons and has started just nine games in the Premier League this season.

The Ukraine international has featured for just 63 minutes across Chelsea’s last five league games and is understood to have requested a loan move in January.

The 23-year-old was keen to secure regular first-team football in a bid to improve his hopes of becoming a success in West London, but saw an exit blocked.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Bayern Munich were among the clubs who considered a loan swoop for the winger, though Chelsea’s stance saw the Germans turn to alternatives.

The Bundesliga champions instead agreed a deal to bring forward Bryan Zaragoza’s move to the club from Granada, having already reached an agreement to sign the Spain international in the summer.
