Rasmus Hojlund is facing two to three weeks out for Manchester United with a ‘small injury’, Erik ten Hag has confirmed
The Denmark international has picked up a muscular problem during training this week and has been ruled out of this weekend’s Premier League clash with Fulham.
Hojlund’s absence will be a major blow with the in-form forward having thrived in recent weeks, scoring in six consecutive Premier League games.
He became the youngest-ever player to achieve that feat in the Premier League and has contributed to an upturn in form for the Red Devils, who have won four successive league games to close the gap on the top four.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Ten Hag confirmed Hojlund is facing up to three weeks on the sidelines.
“It is a small injury, two or three weeks. It is a risk in high-intensity training. It is not a big injury but he has to wait for two three weeks.”
Manchester United are preparing for a new era after Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s minority acquisition of the club was confirmed and Ten Hag said he has been encouraged by initial talks with the new investors.
“We speak a lot. I have many conversations with him and Sir Dave Brailsford about this club, about the team, about structures. We are very aligned. His ambition totally fits with the ambition I have. We are in that project.
“For me I am 19 months in. I see we go in the right direction. I can see a team coming, progressing and developing. We work hard on the training pitch and during games.
“It’s very important to have players fit, sure. We will be even stronger when we add to this squad even more qualities.”
