Kimmich ‘open’ to Premier League transfer with Bayern ‘prepared to sell’

Joshua Kimmich could be on the verge of swapping Bayern Munich for the Premier League in the summer transfer window.

Speculation over the midfielder’s future has been increasing in recent months as the player’s contract expires in 2025.

The prospect of an extension appears to be getting slimmer as time goes, with Florian Plettenberg claiming that there are ‘still no concrete talks about a new contract’.

Bayern are ‘prepared to sell’ Kimmich, but only if a ‘suitable’ transfer offer is tabled. Crucially, the 29-year-old is ‘not ruling out’ a move abroad and is ‘open to discussions with potential buyers’.

It’s claimed that Kimmich only wants a move to one of five top clubs in Europe, which are Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.

Chelsea, Manchester United and PSG, on the other hand, have been ruled out as possible destinations for the 2020 Uefa Champions League winner.

Kimmich was coy when asked about his future earlier this month, stating he is happy at Bayern without giving anything away.

“My contract is still valid until 2025, I want to show my best for this club and then we will see what happens,” he said.

“For sure I’m happy here, I’m happy with the club and city of course.”
