Real Madrid deem Premier League target ‘non-transferable’

Real Madrid have insisted that Rodrygo is ‘non-transferable’ despite strong interest in the Brazilian from the Premier League.

Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal are all monitoring the winger’s situation with the Spanish side, according to Sport, amid suggestions the 23-year-old could look to leave the Bernabeu.

The imminent arrival of Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer is set to increase competition for a place in Real Madrid’s forward line, with the France captain and Vinicius Junior set to be guaranteed names on the team sheet.

Endrick will also arrive from Palmeiras in the summer, while Brahim Diaz, Joselu and Arda Güler offer alternative names to join the front three.

Rodrygo remains focused on Real Madrid, though is keen for assurances over his role in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans. The winger has scored eight goals and laid on five assists in La Liga this season, in addition to five goal involvements in the Champions League.

Ancelotti considers Rodrygo ‘an indispensable player’ despite mixed form this season and the Brazil international is contracted to the club until 2028, with his release clause set at €1bn.

Though currently deemed non-transferable, English clubs are reportedly monitoring his situation, should he express a desire to leave the Spanish capital.
