Arsenal are monitoring the situation at Nottingham Forest ahead of a potential move to sign midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.
Forest have been hit with a four-point penalty from the Premier League for breaching the division’s Profit and Sustainability rules and could require a significant sale to avoid a further breach ahead of next season.
The situation has alerted rival clubs, who are watching developments at the City Ground. Morgan Gibbs-White is one player set to attract interest from Premier League clubs and could be sold with the 24-year-old viewed as arguably the most saleable asset in Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
Gibbs-White signed for Forest from Wolves in a deal worth an initial £25m in 2022 and was named as the club’s Player of the Season as Premier League status was secured for another season in 2022/23.
He has eight goals and 13 assists in 63 top-flight appearances for Forest and also formed part of the England u-21 side that won the European Championship last summer.
According to the Mirror, Arsenal are interested in a potential deal, amid doubts over the futures of Emile Smith Rowe and Fabio Vieira. Each have struggled for status in Mikel Arteta’s plans and Gibbs-White is viewed as a potential replacement to add depth to the club’s creative midfield options.
