Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Manchester City will be without John Stones and Kyle Walker for this weekend’s crunch clash with Arsenal at the Etihad.
The Premier League champions host the league leaders in a huge game on Sunday, with just a point separating the sides in the table.
Guardiola’s preparations for the fixture have suffered a setback during the international break, however, with Walker and Stones picking up injuries with England.
Walker has suffered a hamstring issue and is facing a longer spell on the sidelines with Guardiola admitting he ‘doesn’t know how many games’ the City captain will miss, when discussing his absence at his pre-match press conferenece.
Stones, who has struggled with injury problems this season, was substituted early on in England’s draw with Belgium, having also featured in the Three Lions’ first fixture of the break against Brazil.
There was a more positive update on Ederson, who is expected to feature, while Swiss centre-back Manuel Akanji is fit after picking up a knock on international duty.
