Napoli have ‘no intention’ of selling Khvicha Kvaratskhelia this summer with the club expected to lose Victor Osimhen.
Kvaratskhelia emerged as a transfer target for top clubs across Europe after a brilliant breakthrough at Napoli last season, with the Georgian winger named Serie A’s Most Valuable Player after helping the Italian side to a drought-breaking Scudetto.
There is interest in Kvaratskhelia from Paris Saint-Germain and Premier League clubs, though Napoli will resist all offers for the in-demand star this summer.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Napoli expect to lose Victor Osimhen in the upcoming transfer window and do not want to sell both stars in the same summer.
Osimhen has a release clause of around €130m in his contract at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona and is PSG’s leading target to replace Kylian Mbappe. Chelsea and Arsenal have also been credited with interest in the Nigeria international.
Napoli are keen to renegotiate a new deal with Kvaratskhelia to ensure he remains in Naples for next season. The Serie A side, who are eighth in the table after a disappointing defence of the title, will push to open talks with Kvaratskhelia and his representatives in the coming weeks. It is likely any new deal will include a release clause, as Napoli agreed with Osimhen.
Kvaratskhelia led Serie A for assists during Napoli’s title success in 2022/23, a first for 33 years, and has produced another productive campaign despite the club’s struggle for results. He has 10 goals and six assists from 29 league starts and also starred as Georgia secured qualification to Euro 2024, the nation’s first-ever major tournament.
