Ten Hag makes definitive decision on Sancho future at Man Utd

Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Jadon Sancho is a part of his plans at Manchester United ahead of next season.

The two men fell out last season after the winger accused the Dutchman of scapegoating him, having made only three Premier League appearances off the bench.

Sancho was banished from the first team and forced to train alone before joining former club Borussia Dortmund on loan in January.

The England winger reported for pre-season training at Carrington last week after helping the German outfit reach the Uefa Champions League final, which they lost to Real Madrid.

Ten Hag held a private meeting with Sancho to clear the air and the 54-year-old revealed this week that he will be available for selection going forward.

“Yeah, as we said, we’ve drawn the line,” Ten Hag said on the player’s future at Old Trafford.

“Manchester United need good players and Jadon is a good player. We have drawn that line and we move on.”

Ten Hag reiterated: “We’ve drawn the line. We move on.”

Sancho has two years left to run on his Man United contract, but the club have the option of extending it for an additional year.

Meanwhile, Willy Kambwala has been sold to Villarreal in a deal that could net the Red Devils just under £10 million (€11.5m). The La Liga outfit will pay an initial £4.7m (€5.5m) plus £5m (€6m) in add-ons.

The 19-year-old centre-back made his senior debut for Man United last season, making four appearances in the Premier League and another two during their successful run in the FA Cup.
