Romelu Lukaku is giving ‘total priority’ to a potential transfer to Napoli with the Chelsea forward keen to reunite with Antonio Conte in Serie A.
Lukaku is free to leave Chelsea this summer after spending the past two campaigns out on loan, having disappointed since his £97.5m return to West London in 2021.
The 31-year-old scored 21 goals in all competitions on loan at AS Roma last season, though the capital club have been reluctant to meet Chelsea’s £38m asking price.
Napoli, however, are monitoring the Belgian’s situation with head coach Antonio Conte a big admirer of the forward. Lukaku produced the best football of his career under Conte at Inter Milan and the latter is interested in signing the striker again this summer.
Napoli are expected to lose Victor Osimhen in the transfer window as clubs including Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea consider bids, with the Serie A side ready to target Lukaku should the former depart the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Lukaku is giving ‘total priority’ to Napoli despite interest from the Saudi Pro League in his services.
