Paris Saint-Germain are advancing in talks with Victor Osimhen over a move to the club this summer.
Osimhen is PSG’s top target to replace Kylian Mbappe following the latter’s transfer to Real Madrid. The French champions are in talks with the forward’s representatives and Osimhen is open to the move to Paris.
Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with the Nigeria international, who has an agreement with Napoli to allow him to leave this summer, though PSG are frontrunners after making their interest ‘concrete’.
Osimhen has a release clause of €130m (£109m) in his contract at the Italian side, though PSG are hoping to negotiate a lower fee.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that talks between PSG and the player’s camp are advancing and Osimhen is keen on returning to France, having scored 18 goals in 37 appearances for Lille before his move to Serie A.
The 25-year-old has been a prolific presence at Napoli with 76 goals in 133 games and was the league’s leading scorer as the club won a drought-breaking Serie A title in 2022-23.
Osimhen was named African Footballer of the Year in 2023 after that achievement and has scored 21 times for Nigeria at international level. Only Rashidi Yekini and Segun Odegbami have ever scored more goals for the Super Eagles.
Napoli have been linked with signing Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea should Osimhen leave, with head coach Antonio Conte keen on a reunion with the Belgium international.
