Manchester United make three-player shortlist of Wan-Bissaka replacements

Manchester United are monitoring a trio of right-back options as Erik ten Hag’s rebuild of the squad continues this summer.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been informed that he is free to leave the Red Devils this summer and is attracting interest from West Ham, with United having shortlisted potential options to replace the 26-year-old.

Bayern Munich defender Noussair Mazraoui features highly and is a player Ten Hag knows well, having given the Dutch-born Morocco international his breakthrough at former club Ajax.

Mazraoui is free to leave Bayern this summer and could be available for a fee of just €15m, with the German side needing to sell before continuing their summer business.

Sky Sports are reporting that AS Monaco defender Vanderson and Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong are also of interest to Manchester United.

The former ranked in the top four percent of full-backs across Europe’s top five leagues for tackles and interceptions per game last season and made his senior debut for Brazil last year.

Frimpong, meanwhile, starred as part of Leverkusen’s historic unbeaten German double under Xabi Alonso in 2023-24.

The 23-year-old – who came through the academy system at Manchester City – scored nine goals and provided seven assists in 31 Bundesliga appearances. Frimpong has a release clause in his contract at Leverkusen in the region of £34m.
