Napoli open door to Osimhen swap deal with Premier League side

Napoli are prepared to discuss the prospect of Victor Osimhen moving to Chelsea as part of a potential swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku.

Osimhen wants to leave Napoli this summer and has held talks with Paris Saint-Germain, though negotiations between the two clubs have failed to find an agreement.

PSG are reluctant to meet the forward’s €130m (£109m) release clause at the Serie A side, while the French champions rejected a request from Napoli to include South Korea midfielder Kang-in Lee as part of the deal.

Osimhen has said yes to the potential move to Paris but talks are on hold as things stand.

Napoli are now looking for solutions, according to Fabrizio Romano, which has opened the door for a potential Premier League transfer for Osimhen.

The Nigeria international’s preference is a move to England, though no side has been prepared to meet Napoli’s demands for the 25-year-old.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea have all been linked and the latter could be handed the chance to sign Osimhen in a discounted deal.

Napoli want to sign Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea to replace Osimhen, opening up the prospect of a swap deal. That idea had initially been dismissed, though could be revisited as Napoli look to avoid starting the new season with the unsettled Osimhen still part of their squad.

Chelsea value Lukaku at around £38m, a figure that would significantly reduce Napoli’s demands for Osimhen.
