Spurs step up chase for 19-goal Premier League forward

Tottenham Hotspur are exploring a potential move to sign Bournemouth forward Dominic Solanke.

Solanke is on Spurs’ shortlist as the North Londoners search for a centre-forward this summer, following a career-best campaign for the Cherries in 2023-24.

The 26-year-old scored 21 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions, while only Erling Haaland, Cole Palmer and Alexander Isak outscored Solanke in the Premier League. Solanke’s work-rate from the front also impressed with the forward a Premier League leader for final-third pressures and pressures leading to a turnover.

Ange Postecoglou is an admirer of Solanke as Spurs explore their number nine options, with the North Londoners also assessing the transfer market for a new winger.

A deal for Solanke is described as ‘difficult’ by Fabrizio Romano due to Bournemouth’s valuation of the player, while no formal offer has been submitted. Bournemouth turned down a bid in the region of £40m from West Ham for Solanke 12 months ago and would demand a fee in excess of that sum to sell.

Solanke has scored 77 goals in 216 appearances for Bournemouth since joining the club from Liverpool for £19m in January 2019.
