Borussia Dortmund are set to step up talks for Maximilian Beier this week with the forward viewed as an ideal replacement for Niclas Fullkrug.
Beier scored 16 league goals during a breakout season for Hoffenheim in 2023-24 to earn inclusion in the Germany squad for Euro 2024.
The 21-year-old has been subject of approaches from Chelsea and Aston Villa this summer, though Dortmund are hoping to beat competition from the Premier League to his services.
Dortmund are in negotiations with West Ham to sell Niclas Fullkrug to the London side for a fee in the region of €27m, while fellow forward Youssoufa Moukoko could join Marseille on loan imminently.
The Bundesliga side view Beier as the ideal option to join their forward line, following the capture of Serhou Guirassy from Stuttgart earlier in the transfer window.
Beier has a release clause in his Hoffenheim contract in the region of €30m and could become the latest eye-catching signing for the Champions League finalists.
Dortmund, who will be under the management of Nuri Sahin this season, beat significant competition to land Guirassy as their headline recruit.
Germany internationals Pascal Gross and Walemar Anton have also arrived at the Westfalenstadion, alongside the loan capture of Yan Couto from Manchester City.
