Paris Saint-Germain are nearing a €45m deal to sign Willian Pacho from German side Eintracht Frankfurt.
Pacho has built a growing reputation at Frankfurt with the 22-year-old among the Bundesliga’s leading defenders for touches (5th), clearances (6th) and interceptions (7th) in 2023-24.
The defender enhanced his reputation during Ecuador’s run to the quarter-finals of the Copa America this summer and Paris Saint-Germain are now closing in on a deal to sign Pacho.
The French champions want to sign a centre-back and view Pacho as a long-term option at the heart of their defence, with Sky Germany reporting that discussions are advancing over a €45m move to Ligue 1.
Liverpool have been heavily linked with signing Pacho, while Manchester United and Arsenal have monitored his progress in Frankfurt. However, PSG have reached a verbal agreement with Pacho over a long-term contract and talks are advancing with a medical expected to take place next week.
