Man United manager Erik ten Hag teased the possibility of more transfers being completed ahead of deadline day.
The Red Devils have already seen a number of new signings come through the door at Old Trafford this summer, with Lenny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui arriving for hefty fees.
Manuel Ugarte has been heavily linked with a move to Man United from PSG, but the club may have to sell before they can buy again to keep within the Premier League‘s Profit and Sustainability Rules. Jadon Sancho could leave before the end of the window after being left out of the squad for the team’s opening two games of the season.
Ten Hag says he is content with the squad he currently has at his disposal, but confirmed they will try to make deals happen if the “right option” presents itself.
Transfers – Four Premier League stars in limbo ahead of deadline day
“When we have news, we will come out as a club,” the Dutchman told BBC Match of the Day. “You have to look for better, we have an opportunity but we have to find the right options.
“So far we are happy with this squad and we go with this squad into the league.”
Ten Hag was speaking after his side lost 2-1 to Brighton on Saturday thanks to a stoppage time goal from Joao Pedro. Amad Diallo cancelled out Danny Welbeck’s opener, while Alejandro Garnacho had a goal chalked off after Joshua Zirkzee inadvertently touched the ball on the line while in an offside position.
“We have good potential but we have to keep going until the end,” Ten Hag said. “We concede a goal in stoppage time. The game is finished when the referee whistles three times. That is what we did not do well so we have to improve that game management.”
