Liverpool star faces major decision following £29m transfer

Liverpool have acquired a long-term replacement for Alisson Becker after signing Giorgi Mamardashvili in a transfer worth up to £29 million – leaving Caoimhin Kelleher with a big decision to make on his future.

Subject to international clearance, the 23-year-old will join the Reds from Valencia, where he will remain for this season before moving to Anfield in 2025. The Merseyside outfit have reportedly agreed to pay an initial £25m plus £4m in add-ons.

The Georgia goalkeeper was one of the stars of Euro 2024 in the summer after putting in a series of top performances in Germany, helping the side reach the last-16 of the tournament.

It’s a great move by Liverpool and shows they are putting in place a succession plan for when the most important players of the Jurgen Klopp era eventually move on.
