‘One of the best managers in the world’ – Tuchel reacts to former Chelsea boss Conte joining Spurs

Thomas Tuchel has hailed Antonio Conte as ‘one of the best managers in the world’ following the Italian’s appointment at Tottenham.

Conte was named as the new manager of Spurs this week following the sacking of Nuno Espirito Santo, returning to the Premier League after his previous spell in charge of Chelsea.

The 52-year-old has won five top-flight league titles during a managerial career at Juventus, Chelsea and Inter Milan and his arrival has raised hopes that Spurs can finally challenge for major silverware.

Tuchel was asked for his verdict on Conte’s appointment ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Burnley in the Premier League this weekend and believes the club’s London rivals have secured one of the game’s best managers.

“I have a enough to do here and I am happy where I am,” Tuchel said at his pre-match press conference.

“It’s good news for the Premier League, he’s one of the best managers in the world, look at his record, look at his titles.

“He will make it super tough to play against Tottenham I’m absolutely sure but I’m in a happy place. I’m not concerned about what other people do and other clubs do. I enjoy very much where I am.”
