Chelsea winger insists Chelsea chaos is ‘exaggerated’

Noni Madueke has said stories about Chelsea are ‘slightly exaggerated’ and has outlined his pride at representing the club.

Madueke was talking to the media after being handed his first England call up this month, with the 22-year-old selected for the first time under interim head coach Lee Carsley.

The winger’s selection comes after scoring his first Premier League hat-trick at Wolves last month, while Carsley knows the player well from his time working with the u-21 side.

Madueke appears to have broken into the plans of new Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca and has opened up on life at the club, his pride to represent the Blues, and the ‘exaggerated’ stories regarding the club behind the scenes.

“I feel like, every time I get the chance to play for Chelsea, such a massive club, I feel like it’s a thing of pride,” Madueke said.

“You want it to do as best as you can, and I always want to improve my game and stuff like that. So this season, I just wanted to start as as well as possible.

Madueke says Chelsea ‘a great place to be’

“Of course, what you guys see on the outside is definitely slightly exaggerated. Of course, in the building, it’s a great place to be around and but yeah, of course, there’s a lot of things going on, definitely with all the signings and the turnover and stuff.

“But as a football player. Your job is to perform in the pitch. So you can’t really be thinking about all of that outside stuff. You just have to zone in and try and play your best football. And when you’re called upon, I feel like that’s what I try and do.”
