Erik ten Hag has said there is ‘nothing for him to panic about’ as pressure mounts on his position as Manchester United manager.
Ten Hag’s future is in doubt after a disappointing start to the season for the Red Devils, who sit 12th in the Premier League after six games.
The manner of the club’s 3-0 defeat to Tottenham last weekend has led to calls for change, as the North Londoners eased to three points at Old Trafford. It was a second 3-0 defeat on home soil already this season after losing to Liverpool by the same scoreline.
After spending more than £600m on new signings during his reign, Ten Hag’s team have fallen below expectations in the early weeks of season three. The Dutchman now faces successive tough trips to face FC Porto and Aston Villa, as he looks to address the club’s performances.
Speaking ahead of the Europa League trip to Portugal, Ten Hag said he is not panicking about his future at Manchester United.
“Nothing is easy, but this is nothing for me to panic about,” he told Sky Sports in an interview released today.
“We can sort [the problems] out, this team can sort this out.”

Asked if he thinks he will still be Manchester United manager if the next two games do not show improvement, Ten Hag said: “I’m not thinking about it, I’m not anxious.
“We created a togetherness in the summer with the ownership and the leadership.
“We made this agreement, and we were all behind it. We know the strategy [is to bring in] young players in a transition period.
“They also know in May in all my last six seasons there were always trophies and that is what we are aiming for.”
