Liverpool XI vs Crystal Palace – Predicted lineup and team news

Liverpool travel to face Crystal Palace on Saturday in the Premier League’s lunchtime kick-off. Arne Slot will be hoping his team can build on a strong start under his management, with the Reds having won eight of his first nine games in all competitions.

A win at Wolves last weekend saw Liverpool climb to the top of the Premier League table and the Merseysiders can increase the pressure on their title rivals with three points at Selhurst Park.

Bologna were beaten in midweek as Slot’s side continued their perfect start to the Champions League’s league phase. The Reds are one of just seven teams with maximum points after two games.

Liverpool will be aware of the threat posed by Palace, however, having won just one of the last four meetings between the teams. That run includes a 1-0 defeat at Anfield during last season’s run-in that derailed their title challenge under former manager Jurgen Klopp. However, Palace have endured a tough start to the 2024/25 season and remain winless after six games to sit 18th in the table.

Liverpool team news

Liverpool have a near clean bill of health heading into the trip to South London, with Harvey Elliott (fractured foot) the only confirmed absentee. Federico Chiesa is a doubt for the Reds and Slot is unlikely to risk the Italy international given the depth of his forward options.

Slot told his pre-match press conference: “[It’s] wait and see. He didn’t train for the last two days.

“He came in today to see if he could train and if he can I still have a decision to make because we can only select 20 [players] and he hasn’t trained for a few days.

“But first of all, we have to wait and see if he can even train – and if he can then it’s our decision if we bring him to the game or not.”

Diogo Jota could return to the starting side after Darwin Nunez underwhelmed in midweek, as the two continue to battle for the number nine role. Jota and Andy Robertson shook off knocks to feature against Bologna in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Liverpool predicted line up

Liverpool predicted lineup: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz; Jota.
