Liverpool suffer ‘surprise’ injury as halftime sub explained

Liverpool manager Arne Slot revealed that Alexis Mac Allister sustained an injury during Saturday’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.

The Reds maintained their place on top of the Premier League table thanks to Diogo Jota’s first-half finish at Selhurst Park, although they were fortunate not to give away a penalty in the second half.

The victory was marred by Alisson Becker having to come off with twenty minutes left on the clock with what appeared to be a hamstring injury. Slot confirmed afterwards that the Brazilian goalkeeper will be out for “a few weeks”.

It turns out that was not the only injury problem to come out of the game for Liverpool, as the Dutchman explained why he replaced Mac Allister with Dominik Szoboszlai at halftime.
