Jurgen Klopp has accepted an offer to become the new Global Head of Soccer at Red Bull.
Klopp has agreed terms on a long-term contract with Red Bull that will begin on January 1, his first high-profile role since leaving Liverpool at the end of last season.
The German will advise all teams in Red Bull’s umbrella of clubs, including RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg and New York Red Bulls.
According to Sky Germany, his role will be to offer counsel to the clubs on coaching, playing philosophies, development, transfers and managerial appointments.
It is a huge coup for Red Bull, with Klopp accepting the proposal after taking a break from the game.
The 57-year-old’s decorated spell at Liverpool came to an end in the summer, after nine years with the Reds that saw Klopp win the Champions League and Premier League among his honours at Anfield.
His contract with Red Bull will contain a clause allowing him to leave should he be offered the head coach role of the German national team.
Julian Nagelsmann signed a contract extension with Germany until the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup, though is expected to seek a return to club football following the tournament.
