Dusan Vlahovic is reportedly not a transfer target for Arsenal despite the club’s interest in signing a new centre-forward next summer.
Vlahovic is amongst the most in-demand forwards in Europe following a brilliant breakthrough at Fiorentina, with the Serbia international having scored 21 league goals for the Serie A side last season.
The 21-year-old has began the new season in similar fashion with 10 goals in 13 appearances across all competitions, his performances having seen the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, Juventus and Manchester City linked with his signature.
Goal are reporting that Arsenal are not currently targeting a move for Vlahovic, however, despite the Gunners’ interest in adding to their attacking options next summer.
Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are both out of contract at the end of the current campaign and Mikel Arteta is expected to move for a centre-forward during the summer window.
Fiorentina are prepared to sanction the sale of the forward who has rejected the opportunity to extend his contract in Italy, recent reports having suggested it will take a fee of around €70m to prise Vlahovic from Florence.
The forward ranks third amongst Europe’s top five leagues for goals scored in 2021, with only Robert Lewandowski and Erling Haaland having netted more than the in-demand Serbian.
