England team news vs Finland – Pickford dropped, Kane returns

England have named their team to face Finland in the UEFA Nations League on Sunday.

Lee Carsley has made a statement with first-choice goalkeeper Jordan Pickford dropped to the bench following an unconvincing performance in the 2-1 defeat to Greece last week.

Crystal Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson replaces Pickford and makes his first start for England. It is only Henderson’s second cap, with the first won against the Republic of Ireland four years ago.

Harry Kane returns to captain the team after an experimental England team lost to Greece, with Carsley opting against starting with a recognised striker for the loss at Wembley.

There are also recalls for Manchester City’s Kyle Walker and Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi in Helsinki, while Jack Grealish replaces Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon on the left flank.

Chelsea’s Cole Palmer is expected to start on right in the absence of Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka, who left the England camp after picking up an injury in the first fixture.

Angel Gomes starts in midfield alongside Declan Rice, after impressing on his full England debut against the Republic of Ireland in September.
