Arsenal enter race to sign Bundesliga’s top scorer

Arsenal have entered the race to sign Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush, with the Gunners reportedly leading the race for his signature.

Marmoush has placed himself on the radar of Europe’s top clubs after a prolific start to the Bundesliga campaign. The Egyptian international has nine goals and four assists from seven games played this season and leads Harry Kane as the division’s leading scorer.

The 25-year-old’s performances have not gone unnoticed and Spanish outlet Fichajes claim Arsenal are leading the chase.

Mikel Arteta failed to sign a striker during the summer transfer window, despite the sale of Eddie Nketiah to Crystal Palace. Arsenal could relaunch their move for a recognised centre-forward in January with Marmoush a player on the club’s radar.

The forward signed for Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer from Wolfsburg in 2023 and scored 17 goals in all competitions during his debut season. He has started the new season in superb form and has averaged a Bundesliga goal every 66 minutes in 2024/25. Liverpool have also been linked of late.

Marmoush has two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract with Frankfurt, who are in a strong position to demand a high fee. The German side brought in a club-record €75m (£64.2m) when selling Randal Kolo Muani to Paris Saint-Germain in 2023.
