Liverpool travel to face Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday in the latest examination of their progress under Arne Slot.
The Reds topped the table heading into the weekend after a dream start under the new head coach, having won 11 of their 12 games across all competitions in 2024/25.
Slot’s side have started a tough schedule with hard-fought wins over Chelsea and RB Leipzig over the past week and next face an Arsenal side expected to be in the title conversation at the end of the campaign.
A win for Liverpool would reaffirm early talk of a title challenge this season, though the Reds will need to overcome a poor recent record against the Gunners. Liverpool have not beaten Arsenal in the last four Premier League encounters between the teams, though did secure a 2-0 win at the Emirates in the FA Cup last season.

Liverpool XI vs Arsenal – Predicted lineup and team news
Liverpool team news
Caoimhin Kelleher will continue in goal for Liverpool in the absence of the injured Alisson Becker. The latter is not expected to return until after November’s international break from a hamstring injury, an absence that will provide Kelleher with a run of games. The Republic of Ireland international won plaudits for his performance in Leipzig in midweek and continues to enhance his reputation as arguably the best backup in the Premier League.
Arne Slot has confirmed that Diogo Jota will miss the trip after he picked up an issue during last weekend’s win over Chelsea. Jota has a fine goal record against Arsenal, having netted eight times in 15 career appearances against the Gunenrs. The clash will also come too soon for Conor Bradley and Federico Chiesa. Harvey Elliott (fractured foot) remains on the sidelines for Liverpool.
Perhaps the toughest decision comes in midfield. Curtis Jones produced a man-of-the-match performance against Chelsea last time out, having come into the side due to Alexis Mac Allister’s long travel during the international break. The academy product will want to build on that performance and earn a regular starting role.
Liverpool predicted lineup
Liverpool predicted XI: Caoimhin Kelleher; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson; Ryan Gravenberch, Curtis Jones, Alexis Mac Allister; Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez.
