Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber and Liverpool duo Caoimhin Kelleher and Alexis Mac Allister have been named in UEFA’s Champions League Team of the Week.
Timber produced one of his best performances in an Arsenal shirt as the Gunners won 5-1 at Sporting Lisbon. The Dutch defender recorded an assist, created three chances and completed 95% of his passes in the Portuguese capital.
Mac Allister scored Liverpool’s opener as the Reds beat Champions League holders Real Madrid.
The midfielder’s effort set Arne Slot’s side on route to a 2-0 victory at Anfield and preserved their 100% record after five games in Europe this season. Kelleher, meanwhile, saved a penalty from Kylian Mbappe.
Also included in UEFA’s official selection is ex-Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez, who scored twice as Atletico Madrid thrashed Sparta Prague.
Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz was named as the Player of the Week after starring during the German champion’s big win over Red Bull Salzburg.
