Manchester City will face Juventus in he group stage of the FIFA Club World Cup next summer, following the draw for the first round.
FIFA’s new-look tournament will take place in the United States between 15 June and 13 July next year. The governing body have changed the format and timing of the competition, with an expansion from the seven continental champions to a 32-team tournament.
Instead of annually, the Club World Cup will now take place every four years. City will meet Italian giants Juventus in the group stage, alongside Morocco’s Wydad and Al Ain of the United Arab Emirates.
Chelsea, who qualify as winners of the 2021 Champions League, were drawn alongside 2022 Copa Libertadores winners Flamengo, of Brazil. Mexico’s Club Leon and Tunisian side Esperance Sportive de Tunisie are also in Group D.
