Dean Henderson says he felt ‘unbeatable’ as Crystal Palace secured a ‘massive’ win at fierce rivals Brighton.
Palace extended their unbeaten run to five Premier League games after an impressive 3-1 victory at the Amex Stadium. Ismaila Sarr scored twice and created another as the Eagles climbed four points clear of the relegation places.
Brighton were one of just three teams in the Premier League unbeaten on home soil heading into the game, but Palace handed Fabian Hurzeler his first home defeat as Brighton boss.
Henderson played a crucial role in frustrating the hosts, including a wonderful full-length dive to keep out Julio Enciso early in the second half. Marc Guehi’s own goal saw Henderson lose his clean sheet late on but the goalkeeper said he felt in top form to earn a big three points for his side.
“It’s absolutely massive. The fans have been patient with us this season. We are in a false position, we have great players and today it all clicked,” Henderson said speaking to Sky Sports.
“We knew they would come out [in the second half] and it would be hard. Luckily I helped the team today.
“When you’re in that moment, you feel good, you feel unbeatable. Thankfully we got the third but unfortunately we conceded at the end.
“They [the fans] have been on at us all week, telling us you can be a hero if we win this game.”
