Chelsea summer signing informed he can leave club this month

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has been told he can leave Chelsea this month if a suitable offer arrives for the midfielder.

Dewsbury-Hall signed for Chelsea from Leicester City in a £30m deal in the summer but has failed to break into the club’s plans. He has failed to start a Premier League game and has featured for just 56 minutes across five substitute appearances.

The midfielder’s struggles come despite reuniting with former Leicester manager Enzo Maresca at Chelsea. Dewsbury-Hall starred as Leicester won promotion to the Premier League under Maresca last season, where scored 12 times and provided 14 assists in the second tier.

Unable to break into the side amid competition from the likes of Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Cole Palmer, Dewsbury-Hall was informed last month that he can leave Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window.

Chelsea are prepared to sanction his sale should a suitable bid arrive. Brighton were interested in signing Dewsbury-Hall last summer, with a deal agreed before the midfielder opted for Chelsea.

West Ham have also been linked with the 26-year-old on a loan deal. However, interest from the Hammers could hinge on their managerial situation. Julen Lopetegui is expected to be dismissed this week with West Ham in talks with Graham Potter over replacing the Spaniard.
