Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta received a welcome boost ahead of Wednesday’s Uefa Champions League clash with Dinamo Zagreb as two first-team players have returned from injury.
The Gunners entertain the Croatian outfit at the Emirates Stadium (KO: 8PM) knowing that victory will secure them passage directly into the round of 16, bypassing the playoff round.
The north London outfit have won just two of their opening six games in 2025 as injury setbacks have taken their toll on the team. Gabriel Jesus is expected to be out for an extended period, while Bukayo Saka, Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu are among those also on the treatment table.
Arsenal receive injury boost ahead of Champions League clash
There is at least some relief for Arsenal fans this week as Ethan Nwaneri and Riccardo Calafiori were spotted in training ahead of the midweek fixture.
The teenage winger has been out of action since picking up a muscular issue during the 1-1 draw with Brighton, which forced him off at halftime.
Calafiori missed recent games against Aston Villa, Tottenham and Manchester United, but Arteta suggested the other day that the Italian is close to a return and that appears to be the case.
