Marcus Rashford is set to be included in Thomas Tuchel’s first England squad, which will be announced this morning.
Rashford has not featured for the national team since March 2024 but is set to be included after 12 months out of the squad. The 27-year-old’s inclusion comes amid an impressive run of performances since joining Aston Villa on loan in January.
After expressing a desire to leave Manchester United in search of a new challenge, Rashford signed for Villa on a deal until the end of the season.

He has three assists in four starts for Unai Emery’s side, who have an option to make the move permanent for a fee of around £40m in the summer transfer window. In midweek, he set up Marco Asensio to score against Club Brugge as Villa progressed into the Champions League quarter-finals.
Thomas Tuchel will begin his reign as England manager as the Three Lions’ 2026 World Cup qualification campaign gets underway this month. England face Albania and Latvia in the upcoming international break.
The Athletic are also reporting that Arsenal teenager Myles Lewis-Skelly and Newcastle United centre-back Dan Burn are also set to earn first call-ups. The former has broken into the Arsenal team this season at left-back and impressed, while Burn is set to be recognised for his consistent performances at St James’ Park.
At 32, Burn could become the oldest England debutant since Bolton Wanderers forward Kevin Davies in October 2010.
Elsewhere, there’s reportedly no place in the squad for Jack Grealish, who will not be included. Grealish has endured a challenging campaign with Manchester City and has failed to score in the Premier League this season.
