‘I didn’t do that. ‘I take my responsibility for that goal’: Van de Beek gives honest verdict on Young Boys draw

Speaking to MUTV after Man United’s 1-1 draw against Young Boys, Donny Van de Beek said: “I think first 30 minutes was okay, we made a good goal from Mason, after that we have a few chances to make it 2-0 or 3-0.

“We didn’t do that. I think if we’d done that it would have been much easier. Then 1-1 For me, lost the ball in the middle, maybe I should kick the ball away. I didn’t do that. I take my responsibility for that.

“And after that I think it was a little bit difficult I think we didn’t get enough pressure on them, with the ball as we lost too many balls and it’s really difficult to command the game.

“But overall I think for a few guys they made their game in the Champions League of course congratulations to them because I know it’s really special to play this night. So 1-1 and now focus on the next one [against Norwich] in the Premier League.”
United started brightly through Mason
Greenwood’s goal but were forced to
settle for the point following Fabian Raider’s equaliser.
Donny will hope to get more opportunities in this role for Man United as he works towards getting more game-time under Ralf Rangnick.
