Dele Alli is set to leave Tottenham next month with the club having made the midfielder available for transfer.
Alli has endured a difficult period in recent seasons and has fallen out of favour at the north London side, with the 25-year-old having featured for just two minutes in the Premier League since Antonio Conte’s appointment as manager.
Spurs are open to approaches for the midfielder in January and will listen to permanent offers, though will consider loan moves with either an option or obligation to buy.
Alli has started five league fixtures during the current campaign, but none since Conte’s arrival and the Italian is willing to sanction the sale of a player who has endured a sharp fall from grace.
Alli was a crucial figure during Mauricio Pochettino’s reign as manager, winning back-to-back PFA Young Player of the Year Awards in 2016 and 2017 and earning 37 caps for England.
However, he failed to convince former manager Jose Mourinho and has since failed to regain his form or place in the side, with the Telegraph reporting that he has been given the ‘green light’ to pursue a move away next month.
Alli will represent an attractive option for sides in January despite his recent struggles, with sides set to harbour optimism that they can coax the best from the midfielder once again.
He has not featured for England since the 2019 Nations League finals, featuring during the Three Lions’ third-place play-off against Switzerland.
