Conte yet to speak to Paratici over potential January signings at Spurs

Antonio Conte says is yet to speak with managing director Fabio Paratici over potential January signings for Tottenham.

The winter window is set to open next month as Premier League sides look to strengthen their options, with January providing Conte with a first chance to bring in reinforcements since his appointment in north London.

Conte is believed to be keen on new additions as he looks to shape the squad in his image, with recent reports having linked Spurs with a move for Fiorentina centre-back Nikola Milenkovic as the Italian looks to bolster his defence.

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s clash with Liverpool, Conte says he is yet to discuss potential deals with Paratici and says his focus is on securing results across the festive period.

“In this moment we are not thinking about the transfer window.” he told his pre-match press conference.

“We have had many, many problems to face and solve. It was very difficult to speak about other topics. For sure in the next days we’ll try to have a meeting to speak about the situation to see if there is a way to improve the squad and in which way.

“In this moment I’m having an evaluation of the whole squad. Covid does give a chance for someone to show they deserve to continue to play for Tottenham.”

Spurs’ fixture with Liverpool will be the club’s first in two weeks, having seen each of their past three games postponed following an outbreak of Covid-19 cases in Conte’s squad.
