Southampton are set to make a club-record £25m bid to turn Armando Broja’s loan from Chelsea into a permanent deal.
Broja signed for Southampton on a season-long loan deal from the west Londoners last summer and has impressed during his first season at Premier League level, with the 20-year-old the Saints’ leading scorer in all competitions this season.
The Albanian international has scored seven goals in just 12 starts in all competitions and is the youngest player in the Premier League to have scored 5+ goals during the current campaign.
Southampton are now set to launch a record-breaking bid to secure Broja on a permanent basis, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the club will make a £25m proposal to Chelsea before the transfer deadline.

Chelsea will be faced with a decision on whether to allow Broja to depart permanently. Thomas Tuchel discussed the forward’s progress ahead of the Blues’ clash with Brighton last week, praising the youngster’s development at his pre-match press conference.
“He’s our player and he’s doing good, but at the same time it’s only half a season, so he needs to continue to improve and to make his statement at Southampton,” Tuchel said.
“We have a reason why they are our players, they have quality and mentality and now they are out there on their own in different environments and clubs, and proving themselves.
“Armando’s getting better and better, he’s a very unique player with unique strengths in his game – he has speed, he’s robust and he’s a goalscorer.
“First of all now is not the moment to discuss about the summer – it’s the moment for him to stay calm and keep on improving.”
