Man Utd ‘expecting more enquiries’ for Van de Beek before Monday’s deadline

Manchester United are ‘expecting more enquiries’ for Donny van de Beek before Monday’s transfer deadline as the midfielder seeks an exit from Old Trafford.

Crystal Palace and Valencia have expressed an interest in signing the 24-year-old on loan for the remainder of the season with Van de Beek keen to secure regular-first team football after a frustrating period.

The Netherlands international has started just four Premier League fixtures – none of which have come this season – since signing from Ajax in 2020 and has not been included in the past three squads at international level.

With the World Cup later this year, the midfielder wants regular football after featuring for just 69 minutes across his eight substitute appearances in the Premier League this term.

The BBC are reporting that United expect to receive further interest for the Dutchman before the transfer deadline on Monday and the Red Devils will demand his wages are paid in full before sanctioning a loan.

Van de Beek has failed to convince both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer or Ralf Rangnick since his arrival into English football with reported reservations from the club over whether he has the physicality to succeed in the Premier League.

He arrived with a burgeoning reputation after coming through the academy ranks at Ajax, scoring 41 goals in 175 appearances for the Dutch side before his £35m move to United.

Everton failed with a loan bid for Van de Beek in the summer and are understood to be interested in signing a midfielder before the window shuts.
