Manchester United are said to be the ‘favourites’ to sign Ronald Araujo after the defender rejected Barcelona’s latest contract offer.
Araujo has turned down Barcelona’s latest offer of a new deal, as the Catalans look to secure the long-term future of the Uruguay international who has become a key figure in their new-look side.
Araujo’s current contract expires in 2023 and his situation is being monitored by several leading clubs, with Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal all understood to be interested in signing the centre-back.
Marca are reporting that both Araujo and Gavi have turned down improved deals at the Camp Nou with both players believing the proposals are ‘insufficient’ given their increasing importance to the side.
